It looks like we got caught in the mix of Facebook’s latest series of bans.
Our only guess is this has something to do with the first annual Mid South Hemp Fest. Saturday, April 20th, 2019. Yep 4/20 is a Saturday
We received reports on numerous hemp and CBD companies and farmers pages being removed for pharmaceuticals sells. You would think that after President Trump signed the Farm Bill of 2018, which legalized industrial hemp for the first time in 80 years, that Facebook would have loosened its regulation on hemp and CBD related pages.
Well shortly after Trump, signed the Farm Bill the FDA decided to assert control of CBD. In a statement following Thursday’s bill signing in Washington, FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb restated his agency’s stance that CBD is a drug ingredient and therefore illegal to add to food or health products without approval from his agency.
“Selling unapproved products with unsubstantiated therapeutic claims is not only a violation of the law, but also can put patients at risk, as these products have not been proven to be safe or effective,” Gottlieb wrote.
And there are more being banned, is this a direct result of what the FDA said?
